Going, Going, Gone!!!

This is it. I'm here.
Below are the before pictures...
In a braid (which is how he usually wore it), and my favorite.. Loose!!

Karissa offered to let me cut the 'tail', but I couldn't.  I had a sick feeling in my stomach.  I felt like I was committing a crime!  I couldn't believe how calm Dave was through this whole thing!  I did get lots of pictures, but that's for an album.  It's going to take alot of getting used too!!  But, now I get to package the remainders for Locks of Love!  *gulp*

The End!

I felt the same way when my hubby cut his long hair off in 2007. I was so bummed. He's been growing it out again, but it's just a tease, as he told me he's going to cut it again when summer weather comes again.

But good for Dave.....for giving it to Locks of Love.

I think that is an AMAZING sacrifice you and your husband made to help others! Take a deep breath and know it was for good!

I know this is a hard time and it's hared to think about but you need to really think about it more as now there is hair for a child to get a wig who has lost their hair to illness. My daughter got her hair cut off at almost 6 yrs old and donatd it to locks of love. She is now 7 and a few weeks ago she told me she wantedto get her hair cut really short. I talked her into waiting until Spring. She agreed and said then she will donate it again to locks of love. It will take some time to get used to but you will.

I think its an amazing gift that he gave, more than anything else. My heart goes out to your pain of him not having his hair.. but looking at the last picture posted, by summer it could be in a ponytail! (wink wink)

Please give your hubby an amazing tight squeeze for me, for such bravery and genuine act of kindness by helping those that need it!

Thank you for the kind words! It wasn't really a choice that we made, we were informed that it would be in his best interest to cut it. He's said for years that if ANYONE made him cut off his hair, it would be donated. Which was awesome!! He needed at least 4 inches cut off anyway, the split ends were showing their ware.

He wanted some good to come out of this whole ordeal, and it helped him to go through it. It's going to get cut again, it's pretty poofy in the back. If he were in a different career, the hair would look very nice as is, but he is a Stagehand, and a more controlled style would be better, so.. it's got to get cut, again. It will be fine, it's just going to take a lot of getting used too. I LOVED his long hair!!!
